I began painting in 2009, studying with Susan Herron of the Art League School. From the very beginning, the possibilities with watercolors fascinated me. I painted for years strictly for my own enjoyment. Then friends started asking if I would sell some of my pieces. With this encouragement, I began painting more and experimenting more. In 2016, I showed at the Yarmouth Art Festival, a juried show featuring artists with connections to Maine. This led to my first one-man show in the fall of 2017 in Portland, Maine. Since then, I have had two solo shows at Surge Gallery in Miami Beach. My style is not typical for a watercolorist. I often produce an intensity of color that viewers mistake for acrylics, but I can do things with watercolors that are not possible with acrylics.
